Llars de l’Amistat Cheshire (Cheshire Friendship Homes) is a private non-profit foundation. Started its activities in the city of Barcelona in 1968, more than 50 years ago It currently has 8 different centres throughout Catalonia in which it treats more than 300 people with physical disabilities.

Our mission is to care for and find a cure for people with physical disabilities who cannot live at home. We offer them small and cosy residencies in order to make them feel at home, encouraging coexistence between residents and helping them to achieve their life goals.
Although independent in our operation, we are twinned with The Leonard Cheshire Foundation in 50 countries.
Llars de l’Amistat Cheshire was set up in 1968 in Barcelona as an Association. It began its activity with the inauguration of its first residence in the Barcelona town of Les Planes, later in 1973 it adopted the legal status of Foundation.
. It is registered in the Register of Private Foundations of the Protectorate of the Department of Justice of the Generalitat of Catalonia having reference number 192, and classified as “welfare charity”. Its headquarters are at 60-62 Benedetti Street in Barcelona.

Our professional team
Our care homes employ qualified professionals who possess the sensitivity to carry out our mission with thehighest quality and respect for each person Our team, led by the directors and technical directors of each centre, is made up of: psychologists, educators, social workers, physiotherapists, doctors (general practitioners and psychiatrists), nurses, monitors, caregivers, cleaners and laundresses. All of them are the fundamental pillar that supports the day to day of our residential centres.
